The English Chemist Joseph Priestley gave it the name rubber in 1770 when he found it may be accustomed to rub out pencil marks. Its key industrial success arrived only after the vulcanization course of action was invented by Charles Goodyear in 1839. Organic rubber is the sole non-synthetic rubber.
